Jira alternative
A Jira alternative that doesn't charge you for structure
TaskPebble gives small teams the useful parts of Jira, like hierarchy, sprints, a timeline and story points, without per-seat pricing or a Premium plan just to go above Epic.
Why small teams leave Jira
Structure is paywalled. In Jira, levels above Epic come with the Premium plan. In TaskPebble, Deliverables → Tasks → Subtasks with progress rollups are included on every plan, including Free.
Per-seat bills grow faster than the team. TaskPebble charges one flat price per organization: free for up to 5 people, $39 a month for up to 15, and $99 a month for up to 40.
Configuration becomes a job. TaskPebble's defaults work on day one. You can still rename the levels, add custom statuses and add fields when you need them.
What you keep
- Sprints with a backlog, story points and burndown
- Boards with a row per deliverable
- A Gantt timeline with deliverable bars, dependencies and milestones
- Time tracking and timesheets, built in
- A REST API, webhooks and CSV export, so your data is never locked in
Speak Jira if you want to
Switch on the Agile / Jira naming preset and the levels read Epic → Story → Sub-task. Or keep the project-management defaults: Deliverable → Task → Subtask.
Honest trade-offs
TaskPebble is built by one person. It doesn't have Jira's Marketplace of apps, enterprise single sign-on or compliance certifications. If you need those, stay on Jira. If you're a team of 3 to 40 that wants structure without the overhead, give it an afternoon.
